How to Maintain Your Recreational Water

Proper water maintenance is essential for pools, spas, and hot tubs. Using the right products at the right time ensures safe, clean, and balanced water while protecting your equipment. Our solutions include WaterPure, shocks, clarifiers, oxidizers, and specialty treatments—each designed for a specific purpose.

WaterPure – All-in-One Water Treatment

What it is:
A premium solution that simplifies pool and spa care by supporting clarity, sanitation, and water balance in a single product.

What it’s for:

  • Maintains clean and clear water

  • Reduces chemical complexity

  • Ensures balanced water chemistry

How it works:
WaterPure works continuously to maintain water quality, keeping it safe for swimmers while reducing the need for multiple separate treatments.

Shocks – Rapid Disinfection

What it is:
Shocks are high-dose treatments, typically chlorine-based (like calcium hypochlorite or dichlor) or non-chlorine alternatives (such as potassium peroxymonosulfate), used to rapidly disinfect water.

What it’s for:

  • Quickly kills bacteria, viruses, algae, and other pathogens

  • Oxidizes organic contaminants such as sweat, oils, and lotions

  • Breaks down chloramines that cause cloudy water, eye irritation, and odor

Application / Best Time:

  • Use shocks after heavy use, parties, storms, or visible contamination

  • Recommended frequency: every 7–10 days, or as needed

  • For spas: don’t shock immediately before use; wait at least 1 hour after treatment while circulating water

How it works:

  • Raises free chlorine levels dramatically for “breakpoint chlorination”

  • Kills microbes and oxidizes organic matter, restoring water clarity

  • Non-chlorine shocks allow swimming 15–60 minutes after treatment, versus 8–24 hours for chlorine shocks

Why you need it:

  • Regular chlorine handles daily sanitation; shocks provide a deep-clean reset

  • Ensures safe swimming conditions and restores water clarity

Clarifiers – Clear Cloudy Water

What it is:
Clarifiers are chemical agents, usually cationic polymers or chitosan-based, that coagulate fine particles in the water.

What it’s for:

  • Remove tiny suspended particles (dirt, oils, dead algae, pollen) that filters alone can’t catch

  • Improve water clarity and sparkle

  • Polishing step after shocks or algae treatments

Application / Best Time:

  • Use when water appears cloudy, post-heavy use, or after shock treatment

  • Run the pump for 24–48 hours after addition

  • Clarifiers work continuously with filtration; safe to swim immediately

How it works:

  • Positively charged ions attract negatively charged particles, forming larger clumps for the filter to trap

  • Unlike flocculants, clarifiers don’t require vacuuming

Why you need it:

  • Provides crystal-clear water

  • Enhances filtration efficiency

  • Complements disinfecting treatments without masking issues

Oxidizers & Specialty Treatments

What it is:
Oxidizers break down organic matter and contaminants, often using chemicals like potassium permanganate or hydrogen peroxide.

What it’s for:

  • Long-term water quality improvement

  • Eliminates odors and organic buildup

  • Enhances overall sanitation

Application / Best Time:

  • Regularly, based on water quality needs or heavy bather loads

  • Part of routine maintenance or after contamination

How it works:

  • Oxidizers chemically break down organic impurities

  • Support the work of shocks and clarifiers for clean, balanced water

Why you need it:

      • Maintains healthy water chemistry

      • Protects equipment and surfaces

      • Reduces the risk of cloudy or contaminated water
